This short video raises awareness of the impact of 'the cloud', something we take for granted when storing our data and many don't know that it is quite energy intensive and data centres rely heavily on the burning of fossil fuels to keep them connected at all times. All of this has a negative impact on our planet, and there is only so much room available in these data centres. By clearing out unwanted data from 'the cloud', it can help free up space for the new.
I used print-outs of objects (even the cloud was made out of cotton wool) and then scanned them back in to create this photo-collage style animation, which is in keeping with the story-book town of Hay-on-Wye.
